More
Than Ashes
Drama
2010
More
Than Ashes is a modern dramatization
of the book of Hosea, which is the story
of one woman's walk away from both God
and her husband - and how God leads her
on her journey back to Him.
More
Than Ashes was written as a
collaborative effort between our
Creative Writing class and several
additional members of our Drama
team. The idea started back in the
fall when God planted a seed into a
student's heart. Our Bible 11-12
class was doing a study of the Song of
Songs, prefaced with the book of
Hosea. This study inspired a
16-year-old female student. She
began to visualize a drama about an
absent, unbelieving wife; her heartsick
husband; and how they find their way
toward each other again. This
inspiration would eventually become the
backbone for More Than Ashes.
