Science Courses
At
Coulee Christian School, the study of
Science begins with the basic
understanding that God created.
These courses explain to the students
how God is actively involved in the
field of Science. Concepts are
taught in light of Scriptural truths.
Students
are required to complete three (3)
credits in Science for graduation.
Physical
Science
Length:
Full year
Grade: 9-10
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
Students
in Physical Science will learn very
basic rules and principles of physics
and chemistry without needing any
starting knowledge of these categories
of Science. The purpose of this
course is to show God's intricate
handiwork in the everyday areas of our
lives that we take for granted.

Biology

Grade: 9-10
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
Students
in Biology will cover a variety of
topics, including cellular biology and
anatomy of plants, animals, and
humans. Dissections of animals and
organs will be part of class procedure
as time permits. Students will
learn the beauty of God's creation
through discussion and hands-on
activities.

Chemistry

Grade: 11-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
Students
in this class will learn the basics of
chemistry, including stoichiometry,
balancing chemical equations, gas laws,
and mass-mole-volume ratios.
Students will also be provided the
opportunity to do many hands-on lab
activities involving a variety of
chemical compounds. Calculators
and good algebra skills are a must for
this course.

Physics

Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
This course is
weighted on a 5.00 scale.
Students
in Physics will learn the mathematical
principles behind such concepts as
gravity, acceleration, circular motion,
and relativity. Hands-on lab
activities allow students to see the
concepts on paper as well as in real
life. Calculators and good algebra
skills are a must for this course.
