Foreign Language Courses
An
understanding of a foreign language and
a foreign culture builds kingdom
perspective. It gives our students
an appreciation of the global church and
a means of outreach to other
cultures. In addition, learning
the grammatical concepts and language
requirements of a foreign language
serves to build upon the students'
understanding of their own language and
culture.
Students
are not required to complete any
Foreign Language credits for
graduation. However, most
four-year colleges will require a
minimum of two years of study in the
same foreign language. The courses
offered include:
Spanish
I
Course
Length: Full Year
Grade: 9-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
Students
will develop foundational competencies
and skills for use of the Spanish
language in both its oral and written
form. A survey of occupations
related to the Spanish language and
service opportunities will be used to
stimulate interest, care, and mission
where the Spanish language is
used. The student will develop an
overall knowledge and appreciation for
the Spanish culture.

Course
Length: Full Year
Grade: 10-12
Prerequisites: Spanish
I
Credit: 1.0
Students
will develop a fluency of the Spanish
language in oral, written, and listening
form. This course is designed to
prepare students for entry level into
college or into the mission field by
building on the foundation laid in Spanish
I.
