Bible Courses
The
goal of the Bible courses will be to
challenge the students in their daily
walk with the Lord. The objective
of the classes will be to formulate a
better understanding of the Lord Jesus
Christ by memorizing God's Word,
understanding God's work, and applying
God's Word through active involvement in
church and community activities.
Students
are required to complete four (4)
credits in Bible for graduation (or one
credit per year enrolled at Coulee
Christian School).
Old
Testament Survey
Length:
Full Year
Grade: 9-10
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
The
Old Testament is the primary text for
this course, which is a study of God's
relating to His people in ancient times
- and how He continues to relate to His
people today. This course is a
survey course of the Old Testament with
practical application and relevance to
today. Students study Old
Testament writings such as the
Pentateuch, histories, poetry and
wisdom, and the prophets. This
course includes extensive Scripture
referencing and Scripture memory.

New
Testament Survey
Length:
Full Year
Grade: 9-10
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 1.0
The
New Testament is the primary text for
this course. This course is a
survey course of the life of Christ and
the growth of the early church; it will
emphasize the redemption of the coming
of God's kingdom. Students will
study the gospels, acts, epistles, and
apocalypse. This course includes
extensive Scripture referencing and
Scripture memory.

Apologetics

This
course walks students through the
answers to important questions like:
What is truth? Where can truth be
found? Is the Bible reliable and
relevant for today? This course is
based on the realization that what you
believe about truth and what you rely on
for truth are crucial issues that will
influence both your thinking and the
decisions that you make in life.

In-depth Bible Study
Length: Semester Grade:
11-12 Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.5
This
course is designed to introduce the
student to the academic and historical
background of various books of the
Bible. The students will
investigate Greek and Hebrew mindsets
that influenced the writers of the
Scriptures. Commentaries and
concordances will be used to enlighten
the students as to various viewpoints as
well as in-depth analysis of many Greek
and Hebrew words.

Worldviews
Length:
Semester
Grade: 11-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.5
This
course is designed to help students
understand that they base their
thoughts, decisions, and actions on a
worldview. Their basic assumptions
(ex. the origin of life, purpose, and
the future guarantee) will adhere them
to some system of thought.
Humanism, Marxism, and other worldviews
will be compared to the Biblical
worldview of Christianity.
Emphasis will be given as to how each
worldview looks at theology, biology,
politics, and other disciplines.
