Students will
focus on using the fine arts as a tool
for ministry. Through the fine
arts, students have an opportunity to
express their Christian faith.
They will learn that artistic, musical,
and theatrical skills should be used
first to honor the Lord and then to
minister to others in varying settings.
Students are
required to complete one (1) credit in
Fine Arts for graduation.
This class is to
encourage both the beginning and
experienced artist to create art with
the use of various mediums and
techniques. Students will use
pencil shading, colored pencils,
watercolor, charcoal, pastels, and more
to create a variety of finished
products.
This class is
for both the experienced and the
beginning artist who would love to
paint. Students will use several
different techniques and mediums to
create a variety of finished products.
The main focus will be on acrylic
painting, but students will be exposed
to watercolor, tempera, India ink, and
enamel paints as well.
Students will
be exposed to a variety of Christian
contemporary and classical music.
Students will begin to learn the
mechanics of music, such as sight
reading, rhythms, and note value.
Students may minister in area churches,
youth organizations, and more as the
Lord opens doors to encourage them to
use their gifts in the fine arts to
God's glory.
This
course will focus on preparing and
rehearsing for a production, which is
given in May. Students will be
given opportunities to be involved with
all other functions of a large-scale
dramatic presentation, including acting,
advertising, choreography, costume
design, directing and producing,
lighting, music, and script writing, and
stage construction.
Students
participating in this course will be
required to participate in three to four
Saturday construction days throughout
the course of the semester, as well as
some after-school rehearsals prior to
the nights of the performances.
Attendance is mandatory.

Human Video is a one-semester
course offering with the goal of
developing young people theatrically.
Through physical and emotional
expression, as well as using simple and
complex choreographed movements, each
human video team will illustrate a wide
variety of stories with musical songs
forming a backdrop.
Students in
this course may be asked to travel to
local churches, youth outreaches, and
more for performances.
